The Increasing Cost of Life

As someone who still remembers when having 100 dollars meant something, I have to say, it sucks to be alive today. I truly feel for the next generation who is forced to endure the increasing cost of life. What do you do when being alive is not worth the expense?

The Increasing Cost of Life

Despite what people over 65 believe, no you cannot work your way into a better life. The golden age of getting a well-paying job with bare minimum qualifications and being able to take care of a family on minimum wage is over. Nowadays, you are blessed and highly favored if that minimum wage job covers rent and allows you to eat once a day simultaneously.

Savings? Do people still have that? What both citizens and the government have is massive amounts of debt. People are living off of credit card debt and loans while hoping to die before the bank comes calling. And you can forget about getting a mortgage unless you are a double-income household making over 6 figures a year.

As the cost of living continues to rise and Millennials doubt why they still exist, Generation Z will become the first generation that doesn’t have access to home ownership and other wealth-building assets. Generation Z (if they choose to have kids) will most likely usher in a very piss-poor Generation Alpha. With the economy bad and few opportunities in sight, life is becoming increasingly costly and unattainable.

Population Decreases

Sometimes, we need to pay attention to nature and I’m not talking about climate change. (Although that adds to the problem at hand) I am speaking about how females act in nature when the environment is hostile. We are in the most hostile economic and social environment since World War 2.

So what does this have to do with global population decline?

Well in nature females either don’t breed or kill their young in hostile environments. So what did human males expect when medicine, food, child care, and housing are expensive and men are useless? Women are now choosing not to have children and a lot of men are mad that they are choosing survival over attempting to rear kids in a hostile environment.

Yet instead of creating an environment where women will want to raise kids, let’s call them selfish for not doing their duty by creating more impoverished, traumatized, unwanted children in the world. The worst part of the government’s demand for more children is probably children in foster care, abandoned, and in orphanages who are hearing this knowing that they aren’t being cared for. Perhaps they need these children as soldiers for the wars they want to start.

The Conflicting Cost of Living Index

Knowing how to conduct or even the research method is vital. If you look at some countries’ cost of living indices and pay attention to the last time there has been an adjustment, you’ll realize that some countries may present conflicting reports. After all, it is very easy to present something as good when no one looks too deeply at the data.

Now why is this important for the average consumer?

Since countries use the cost of living index as a reason behind minimum wage, housing rates, and food prices, it will be the reason why many companies aren’t giving you your fair share as you don’t need more to live on. They don’t care about your actual bills when the Cost of Living Index indicates otherwise.

Ideally, the cost of living index is supposed to measure the average cost of living for a person to survive based on average income. But what if that average income was inflated due to a high billionaire population? And what if the government value on real estate and food was lower than the actual market value? Then wouldn’t the cost of living index no longer represent the average person and their average expenses?

So before you head to your boss to beg for a raise, check out the cost of living index for your area and ensure those figures are adding up. If not, your country may have to make some adjustments before your next salary negotiation.
