Why We Should Not Have Controversial Issues

The fact that this post will be a controversial issue is not lost on me.

It’s high time we the people start working for ALL the people and not just the marginalized in our society. Now legally and socially, it will be an insurmountable task but that’s why it is so important that we shift our focus from controversial issues to universal issues. And its also why we need to understand the damage that our current approach is causing to our growth as a society.

The Difference Between Controversial and Universal Issues

You probably know what is a controversial issue, but do you know what is a universal issue? That’s because nowadays they try to change every universal issue into a controversial issue. A universal issue is an issue that affects all of humanity, no matter gender, creed, class, or religion. So a controversial issue is technically an issue that will only affect a certain group of people and/or is created to highlight varying opinions to find a common solution.

(There’s a good reason I used the word created, read on…)

Examples of Universal and Controversial Issues

Now the reason controversial issues are controversial is because they don’t affect everyone equally and they always generate a difference of opinion. Now people who support most controversial issues will argue that they do affect everyone and so everyone should support them. However, that support can have a positive and negative effect on society regardless of what side of the issue you are on.

However, with universal issues there is only one possible positive choice to make that will guarantee a positive outcome for all involved. So why are we so bogged down by controversial issues that we are blinded to the good that can come from supporting universal issues first? Two words: Division and Distraction.

Division and Distraction
They divide us and then feed us tailored information

Division and Distraction

It seems like every month there is a new controversial issue that is dividing people and causing a distraction from what is really important to all of us. And the rise of controversial issues only means a lot of universal issues get shoved to the back while we all debate this new thing. However, there is a reason for this.

When comedians and conspiracy theorists start waving red flags you better start paying attention. While comedians may joke about a war being used to distract the public, it may not be far from the truth. If you really pay attention you’ll notice that politicians and the news media love to use this slight of hand tactic when it comes to reporting on issues. They would shelve the current debate for a more pressing emergency and you never find out the results of that issue until it's too late, but by then they would have shoved another controversial issue at you and on it goes.

As any expert will tell you keeping someone’s brain in this constant panic or stress mode will make it hard to make logical decisions. And because you are constantly triggered emotionally by images and sounds, you end up making emotional decisions that never work out for anybody. However, constant distraction isn’t the only weapon they use.

Division plays a key role in getting any issue to be a controversial one, all you need is a bad guy. Two examples of this are the Israel/Hamas war and the Trans Community. It’s hard to say Israel is attacking the citizens of another country but it's easier for everyone to swallow that they are killing terrorists. It’s hard to find fault with the entire LGBTQ community but it's easier to target men who dress up as women. By doing this you ignore the damage done to the whole because they have you believing they are just targeting the ‘bad guy’. (black people you know what I’m talking about)

Why We Need to Focus on Universal Issues First

When logic and facts are no longer being accepted in discussions and emotions are ruling it’s time to end all conversations on a topic. There are easy solutions for most controversial topics as many countries have discovered. They let the public vote. Not form political cliques or get on TV and spew nonsense. The facts are provided, and educational campaigns are launched and the public then decides yes or no.

How hard is that?

Ambiguity and ignorance are the foundation of many controversial issues and by eliminating them we can turn our attention to long-term universal issues such as human trafficking, water conservation, and food security. We cannot afford to keep being blindsided by petty controversial issues especially as climate change is beginning to impact many countries across the globe. Soon many of us may have no homes or even a country to represent as it may be wiped out by a natural disaster.

We should shift our focus to solving real problems that affect us all. Controversial issues are the problems that suck up most of our tax dollars and yield the least amount of long-term solutions.

When the citizens of a country are focused solely on issues that will improve the lives of every citizen in a country that country will be better equipped to rise to developed nation status and become a world leader. And just think, if every country was able to solve their domestic issues easily wouldn’t that make it so much easier to solve global issues? But then again this is just my lowly opinion and I’m not a politician or expert on anything so obviously there will be some issues with this stance.

Why is this Opinion a Controversial Issue

The fact that we accept the judgment of the chaos creators we have for politicians and think all conspiracy theorists are crazy when the former is doing more damage to the world is just weird. We the people need to stop fighting amongst ourselves over petty controversial issues and start demanding better leadership. We need to stop playing into their hands and start thinking for ourselves. There is no need for unfiltered, uneducated public opinion being shoved on our screens 24/7 while facts are being altered to suit a political agenda.

Trusted data from independent sources should be the information available to the public before the discussion of any controversial topic. And since the days of rogue investigative journalism seems to be behind us, those blocked TikTok and YouTube reporters who are doing their best to speak the truth in a sea of misinformation may be the last of their kind. So you can continue to wonder where my sources are while major news platforms and organizations are simply fabricating theirs.

Common sense is no longer commonplace and masses are losing the m.

Then strangely enough we wonder why women are choosing to go childless. In nature, if an environment is hostile, the female won’t nest there, so it's natural for women to not want to bring their young into a confusing, war-crazy world filled with poverty and endless suffering. So until universal issues are solved, you can continue to watch those birth rates drop.
